Overview

HCA Healthcare Summerville Hospital is seeking a Lactation Consultant RN in Ridgeland, South Carolina. This role focuses on delivering quality patient care for postpartum mothers and their newborns, involving assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care in accordance with established clinical practices and regulations. The Lactation Consultant will also support process improvement and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver quality patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for postpartum mother/baby combinations.
  • Direct nursing care based on established clinical practices and regulations.
  • Incorporate knowledge of age-specific development and cultural values into care plans.
  • Contribute to quality nursing care through process improvement techniques.
  • Supervise students as required by the area supervisor.

Required skills

  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment
  • Neonate Resuscitation certification within 90 days of employment
  • International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) certification within 1 year of employment
  • Healthcare & Medical background
  • Nursing and Patient Care experience
