Overview

HCA Healthcare Summerville Hospital is seeking a Lactation Consultant Registered Nurse (RN) to join their team in Hilton Head, South Carolina. This role focuses on delivering quality patient care for postpartum mother/baby pairs, while adhering to clinical practices and regulations. The consultant will work collaboratively to improve patient outcomes through assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver quality patient care through the nursing process
  • Conduct assessments, plan and implement nursing interventions for postpartum mother/baby combinations
  • Direct nursing care based on clinical practices and regulations
  • Incorporate patient's age-specific development and cultural values into care plans
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient care outcomes
  • Supervise nursing students as required

Required skills

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment
  • Neonate Resuscitate certification within 90 days of employment
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Associate Degree in nursing
  • International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) certification within 1 year of employment
