Job Description

Overview

The H&K Group is seeking an experienced and motivated Laborer for their Harrisburg Division in Hummelstown, PA. The role involves a variety of tasks on construction projects, requiring flexibility to shift between different duties as needed.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform all work adhering to OSHA and H&K Safety policies
  • Acquire tools needed for daily operations
  • Measure distances and assist in grading and alignment
  • Signal operators of construction equipment
  • Level earth to fine grade specifications
  • Mix and finish concrete
  • Position and seal pipe sections
  • Assist with paving tasks
  • Get tools needed for daily operations and set up job functions
  • Perform backfilling duties and check pipe slopes
  • Prep structures for installation
  • Complete other duties as assigned

Required skills

  • One month of related experience and/or training
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to understand and carry out instructions
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Ability to meet physical requirements and utilize appropriate PPE
  • Experience in heavy civil construction or road construction
