Job Description

Overview

The Laboratory Technician I at Agropur is responsible for supporting production through the analysis of various samples using different test methods. Key tasks include performing microbiological and physical tests, documenting results, maintaining laboratory equipment, and ensuring a clean working environment. This role emphasizes the importance of teamwork, accountability, and a commitment to quality.

Key responsibilities

  • Analyze raw materials, in-process products, and finished products
  • Perform microbiological and physical laboratory tests
  • Document and report testing results and abnormal reactions
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and conduct routine quality control checks
  • Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)
  • Follow established procedures and safety protocols
  • Maintain a clean and organized workplace

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate's Degree or coursework in Food Science, Chemistry, or Biology preferred
  • Experience with metric and standard systems of measurement
  • Basic computer skills with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and quality in work
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
