Overview

The Laboratory Director at HCA Florida Fort Walton-Destin Hospital will oversee operations and lead a team to ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards. This role focuses on driving quality patient care while managing laboratory programs, staff development, and financial operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Direct laboratory operations to meet organizational and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure adequate staffing and provide staff training and performance management
  • Develop department strategies for service, quality, regulatory compliance, and patient satisfaction
  • Evaluate and incorporate feedback into departmental improvements
  • Oversee financial operations and monitor resource utilization
  • Ensure compliance with standards set by regulatory agencies
  • Manage vendor relationships and supply contracts
  • Develop and implement departmental communication plans

Required skills

  • Baccalaureate Degree in Medical Technology, Biomedical Science, Biology, or Chemistry
  • National Certification as a Medical Technologist
  • 3 years of progressive laboratory management experience
  • Florida License in multiple laboratory areas
  • Experience in hospital clinical laboratory preferred
