Laboratory Assistant The Laboratory Assistant performs and coordinates venipuncture and related phlebotomy procedures, provides clerical support to the department, and performs billing and coding functions. Cleans, prepares, cleans, and stores glassware and other lab equipment to follow health and safety regulations. Has knowledge of point of care testing procedures, this includes but not limited to blood glucose, pregnancy tests, rapid strep, and hemoglobin.High School Diploma or equivalent; additional training/education preferred, such as completion of Medical Assistant program, Phlebotomy training, coursework in medical terminology.
