Overview

The Laboratory Assistant at Mosaic Diagnostics supports daily laboratory operations through various non-technical tasks to ensure a clean and efficient work environment. This role involves assisting with sample handling, inventory management, and general operational duties integral to the laboratory's functionality.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform routine non-technical maintenance tasks such as cleaning and organizing workstations
  • Assist with inventory management and restock supplies as needed
  • Aliquot specimens and accurately label containers for testing
  • Prepare, organize, and stage samples for testing or transport
  • Wash laboratory glassware and ensure proper cleaning and storage
  • Monitor laboratory cleanliness and assist with waste disposal and recycling
  • Follow all laboratory safety procedures and maintain accurate records of completed tasks
  • Conduct training for new team members and assist with workflow direction

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or associate degree in biology or equivalent experience
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Prior experience in a laboratory or healthcare preferred
  • Basic communication skills and professionalism
  • Computer data entry experience
  • Familiar with LIMS and sample management systems
  • Expanded knowledge of laboratory testing equipment and protocols
