Together, we're improving health and improving lives.LabCorp is seeking a Laboratory Supervisor to join our team in Tampa, FL.Work Schedule:Job ResponsibilitiesSupervise the day to day operations of the Microbiology departmentEnsure laboratory tests are accurately performed and results are reported in a timely mannerDirectly supervise, train, and mentor laboratory personnel of the departmentMonitor daily workflow in the lab and schedule adequate assay coverageResponsible for ensuring all shifts in the department are properly staffedResearch and resolve any production errors while escalating when necessaryEngage in continuous process and service level improvementsEnsure all equipment is being properly maintained through Quality ControlPrepare and maintain Quality Assurance records and documentsEvaluate new process improvements and make appropriate recommendationsMeet regularly with direct reports to provide coaching and feedback for their developmentPerform bench work as needed and maintain proficiency/competency in technical operationsEnsure all work is in accordance with state and Federal regulationsResponsible for administering and managing policies and proceduresProcess and maintain payroll and personnel filesPerform administrative duties as neededMinimum QualificationsAssociate's degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology5 years or more of clinical laboratory testing experience MicrobiologySupervisor FL State LicensePreferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology6 months or more of supervising or leading a teamASCP or AMT certification Additional Job StandardsIn lieu of education requirements listed above, non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may meet education requirementsUnderstanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and proceduresExperience working in a high volume laboratory environmentStrong working knowledge of CLIA, CAP and relevant state regulationsAbility to work independently and within a team environmentProficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systemsHigh level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skillsComfortability making decisions in a changing environmentAbility to handle the physical requirements of the positionAble to pass a standardized color blindness testFlexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needsAt LabCorp we have a passion for helping people live happy and healthy lives.
