Overview

The Lab Supervisor - Histology at Carle Health will oversee the day-to-day operations of the clinical laboratory, assisting the Lab Manager. The role requires a strong background in pathology, laboratory management, and quality assurance to ensure regulatory compliance and address personnel performance.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist Lab Manager and provide backup support
  • Oversee day-to-day operations in the clinical laboratory
  • Lead initiatives at the direction of the Lab Manager
  • Monitor regulatory preparedness and compliance
  • Track quality and performance metrics
  • Conduct performance evaluations and supervise personnel
  • Prepare operating and capital budgets
  • Manage staffing and workload redistribution
  • Monitor turn-around-time reports and implement corrective actions
  • Assess and recommend new instrumentation
  • Ensure staff training and validation for new tests

Required skills

  • Histotechnician certification (HT) - ASCP
  • Associate's Degree in Biological Science
