Overview

Eterna Management, LLC is seeking a Laboratory Operations Manager to oversee laboratory operations in their Newport Beach location, specifically focusing on Certificate of Analysis (COA) and Research & Development (R&D) functions. The role requires strong operational leadership and a technical foundation to drive continuous improvement and ensure compliance with quality standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee daily laboratory operations across COA and R&D functions
  • Manage sample tracking, prioritization, and third-party laboratory coordination
  • Implement process improvements to reduce workflow inefficiencies
  • Review and interpret COA results and provide operational insights
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Directly manage laboratory team members and conduct weekly team meetings
  • Communicate operational risks and issues to leadership
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance on documentation requirements

Required skills

  • Demonstrated experience in laboratory operations
  • 2 years management experience
  • Strong understanding of laboratory testing methods (e.g., HPLC, GC)
  • Ability to interpret laboratory data
  • Proven experience managing teams
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Experience with quality systems or regulated environments is preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related scientific field
