Overview

Pelican Brewing Company is opening a new location in Yachats, Oregon, and is seeking a Kitchen Manager to lead the culinary operations. This role involves managing kitchen staff, ensuring food quality, and creating a welcoming environment for guests.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee overall operations of the kitchen and back of house
  • Function as head chef and kitchen supervisor
  • Manage kitchen staff schedules
  • Maintain clean working environment and follow all safety guidelines
  • Administer employee performance reviews and recognition
  • Communicate weekly with Regional Chef and Director of Restaurant Operations
  • Recruit, build, and retain a high-quality team
  • Ensure adherence to food quality and Oregon food guidelines

Required skills

  • 2-3 years experience as a Sous Chef in a busy kitchen
  • Culinary degree
  • 2-3 years management experience
  • Understanding of OSHA guidelines
  • Valid Oregon Food Handlers permit
  • Familiarity with PBC programs used to operate the facility
