Job Description

Overview

FM is seeking a Jurisdictional Consultant / Boiler Inspector to conduct in-service jurisdictional inspections of boilers and pressure vessels primarily in Central NY. The role requires strong technical knowledge and the ability to manage inspections while adhering to various codes and regulations.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct in-service jurisdictional inspections of boilers and pressure vessels
  • Ensure compliance with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code and National Board regulations
  • Manage, inspect, and evaluate equipment while conferring with clients
  • Participate in FM procedural and field training
  • Eliminate or mitigate hazards through inspections
  • Travel approximately 30% for inspections

Required skills

  • BS in Engineering, associate degree, or high school diploma
  • National Board and state certifications (preferred)
  • Knowledge of boiler and pressure vessel construction and inspection
  • Understanding of management systems and nondestructive methods
  • Strong communication and listening skills
  • Time management and organizational skills
  • Basic computer application skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
