Overview

Cornerstone First Mortgage is seeking an outgoing Junior Loan Officer to assist applicants in navigating the home loan process. This role involves a combination of sales, customer service, and relationship management as you work with clients to help them secure mortgage loans.

Key responsibilities

  • Meet sales expectations and generate new business
  • Communicate with senior mortgage loan officers to recommend suitable mortgage products
  • Assemble financial information and prepare loan applications
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure successful loan transactions
  • Educate loan applicants about residential mortgage loans
  • Conduct interviews with clients to assess financial needs and preferences
  • Prepare and deliver clear loan presentations outlining terms and conditions
  • Accurately price loan products and explain rates and fees
  • Act as the primary contact for clients throughout the loan process
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships for satisfaction and referrals
  • Review loan package documents for discrepancies and follow up on inquiries

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, high school diploma required
  • Exceptional communication, sales, and relationship skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of CRM, MLS, DU, and mortgage software preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in a loan officer assistant or mortgage assistant role preferred
  • Understanding of loan programs and financing options is helpful
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
  • Knowledge of state and federal legislation and underwriting processes
