Overview

As a Junior Buyer at JYSK Canada, you will assist a Category Manager in managing the purchasing and line management of a product portfolio aimed at maximizing sales and profits. The role involves coordinating with multiple teams, handling various projects including retail pricing management, inventory management, marketing content, and utilizing data for decision-making.

Key responsibilities

  • Support Category Manager in purchasing and line management
  • Maximize sales and profitability of product category
  • Manage product line assortment and forecast sales mix
  • Create pricing strategy under Category Manager's direction
  • Identify growth and savings opportunities
  • Manage large data sets using Power BI and Excel
  • Collaborate with planning, marketing, e-commerce, and store operations
  • Evaluate and optimize marketing campaigns
  • Work with Visual Merchandising team for optimal product displays

Required skills

  • 2-5 years of experience in retail buying or related field
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
  • Advanced Excel skills and database knowledge
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Strong problem identification and resolution skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office
