Overview

Upgrade, Inc. is seeking a Junior Business and Data Analyst to join their growing analytics team. This role involves supporting data-driven decision making through report building, SQL query writing, and generating insights to help business leaders uncover opportunities. Candidates should have at least 2 years of experience in an analytics role and a genuine curiosity about data.

Key responsibilities

  • Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies
  • Assist in KPI tracking and data quality checks
  • Build and maintain business intelligence reports
  • Write and maintain SQL queries including joins, CTEs, and window functions
  • Support query optimization for performance improvements
  • Enhance and maintain scenario models for forecasting
  • Build and maintain dashboards and standard reports
  • Prepare materials for executive presentations

Required skills

  • 2+ years of experience in an analytics or data-focused role
  • SQL proficiency including joins, CTEs, and window functions
  • Experience with Tableau, Microsoft Excel, Redshift, and Databricks
  • Familiarity with AI tools like Claude or ChatGPT
  • Ability to gather and document business requirements
  • Skill in translating data outputs into plain-language summaries
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
