Overview

Larkin Benefit Administrators is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Human Resources Consultant to join their consulting team in Roseville, California. The role involves providing HR expertise on various client engagements, including employee relations, performance management, and compliance with California employment laws.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide guidance and expertise on HR functions like employee relations and wage compliance.
  • Consult on employee relations issues and leave of absence programs.
  • Coach clients on interpreting and enforcing employment laws.
  • Develop and review client documents and policies for compliance.
  • Perform HR Practices Reviews to identify areas for improvement.
  • Facilitate the creation of customized employee handbooks.
  • Maintain strong relationships with client management and manage work plans.
  • Contribute articles to the Silvers HR Newsletter on relevant HR topics.
  • Generate reports detailing client activities and work status.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Professional HR certification (SPHR, PHR, SHRM-SCP, or SHRM-CP).
  • Minimum 5-7 years of HR experience focusing on California employment laws.
  • Knowledge of federal and California employment laws.
  • Experience in developing HR policies and handbooks.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • High-level proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to travel within Northern California.
