Overview

PacifiCorp is seeking a Journeyman Station Meter & Relay Technician to join their team in Oakland, Oregon. This role involves the installation, maintenance, testing, adjustment, troubleshooting, and repair of substation equipment, requiring a strong focus on customer service, safety compliance, and teamwork.

Key responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, test, adjust, troubleshoot, and repair substation equipment
  • Perform testing on substation apparatus including power factor testing and megger testing
  • Operate substation equipment, including switching and grounding
  • Follow safety rules and company standards
  • Work in confined spaces and elevated areas as needed
  • Manage tools, test equipment, and vehicles

Required skills

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Completed electrical apprenticeship or equivalent program
  • 4 years experience in the meter & relay trade
  • Knowledge of substation protection, control, and metering equipment
  • Experience with electromechanical and microprocessor protective relays
  • Good driving record
