Overview

The Journeyman Plant Mechanic at PacifiCorp is responsible for repairing, maintaining, and upgrading mechanical equipment and facilities in hydro generating stations. This role requires a combination of technical skills and the ability to plan maintenance activities for hydro plant outages.

Key responsibilities

  • Repair and maintain all types of mechanical equipment in hydro plants
  • Operate equipment and direct maintenance activities during outages
  • Arc and gas weld power plant components
  • Repair turbines and bearing systems
  • Add or replace packing as required
  • Maintain governor and lubrication oil systems
  • Upgrade cooling water and hydro conveyance systems
  • Perform machining, equipment alignment, and precision work
  • Repair and maintain hydro plant facilities, including roads and concrete work
