Job Description

Overview

The Journeyman Plant Electrician at PacifiCorp will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting plant electrical generating systems and support equipment to ensure maximum production of electrical energy. Candidates should have experience in power plants and be capable of working with various electrical, electronic, and computer systems under the direction of a Plant Manager.

Key responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair electrical generating systems and support equipment
  • Troubleshoot and program electrical, electronic, and computer equipment
  • Calibrate high voltage switchgear and equipment
  • Inspect and perform routine preventive maintenance on electrical equipment
  • Operate mobile equipment like forklifts and cranes for installation and repair
  • Train and direct apprentices and helpers as assigned
  • Prepare reports on maintenance and safety inspections

Required skills

  • 3 years experience as a Journeyman Electrician
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Knowledge of electrical theory and industrial maintenance
  • Experience with control systems and calibration
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical manuals
  • Experience in operating mobile equipment
  • Must pass IBEW local 57 examination
