Job Description

Overview

West Fraser is seeking a Journeyman Millwright in Orange Park, Florida. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and operating a planer machine, performing minor and preventive maintenance, and assisting with major repairs as needed.

Key responsibilities

  • Demonstrate proper use of personal protective equipment and safety procedures
  • Perform critical measurements using a caliper
  • Set, monitor, and maintain the planer machine
  • Feed the planer and ensure a constant lumber flow
  • Keep the machine set to proper tolerances and a quality finish
  • Assist maintenance on major repairs and perform minor repairs
  • Change knives on the planer machine
  • Conduct housekeeping as assigned by supervisor
  • Assist with maintenance repairs to other machines as directed
