Overview

Cargill is seeking a skilled Journeyman Millwright to join their specialized portfolio enterprise in Surrey, BC. In this role, you will work on a variety of systems, including pumps, conveyors, and motors, while contributing to the maintenance and repair of plant production equipment. This position offers the opportunity to enhance your skills in a hands-on, challenging environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Identify and correct problems in machines and equipment to facilitate production
  • Maintain, repair and overhaul plant production equipment and grounds
  • Respond quickly to trouble calls from supervisors or technicians
  • Assist Operating Engineers in maintenance of plant utilities
  • Perform weekly preventive maintenance walkthroughs, inspections, and repairs
  • Maintain complete and accurate records of shift logs and maintenance inspections
  • Ensure smooth communication during shift changes
  • Collaborate in process improvement teams as required
  • Support projects including design, installation, and commissioning

Required skills

  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Red Seal Millwright certification
  • Physical ability to perform job duties including lifting 50 pounds
  • Experience in rigging systems, gearbox maintenance, and hydraulic systems
  • Forklift experience preferred
  • Class 4 Power Engineering Certificate preferred
  • Basic computer skills
  • Experience with MRO and MRP systems preferred
  • Ability to work in elevated areas
