Position: Java Developer (Ref: 18616)Location: Salem, OR USA, 97302Salary: DOEDuration: 1 Years 0 Months 13 Days - ContractOpenings: 1Deadline: 08/25/2026Description: RemoteWe are seeking an experienced Senior Java / J2EE Developer to support the operations, maintenance, enhancement, and performance refactoring of a large-scale, web-based state health and human services management application.The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional Scrum teams, technical architects, and product owners to resolve complex defects, implement application enhancements, optimize database performance, and ensure smooth knowledge transfer to internal staff.Key Responsibilities Develop and deliver software code modifications, bug fixes, and system enhancements using Java/J2EE and IBM DB2. Translate functional business requirements into technical design documents, system dependencies, and solution options. Participate in daily Agile Scrum ceremonies, 2-week sprint planning, review sessions, and regular functional prototype demonstrations. Perform application refactoring, user interface improvements, and data/reporting optimizations. Follow established enterprise SDLC, design standards, naming conventions, and issue-tracking workflows in Azure DevOps (ADOS). Provide comprehensive technical documentation covering database changes, batch programs, application modules, and interface updates. Transition knowledge and system concepts to internal team members for long-term operational support.Requirements & Work Logistics Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the United States (no offshoring permitted). Remote Setup: Must provide own equipment (computer, monitor, reliable high-speed internet, phone, webcam) capable of connecting securely via VPN.
