Job Description

Overview

The Facilities Janitor at Southern Glazer's Wine & Spirits is responsible for cleaning and maintaining the warehouse facilities to ensure compliance with sanitation regulations. This role includes providing excellent service to clients and working during overnight hours typically from Monday to Thursday, 6:00 PM to 4:00 AM.

Key responsibilities

  • Crush discarded cardboards from night production
  • Empty garbage cans within the warehouse
  • Sweep debris in aisles, walkways, and pick modules
  • Clean guard rails and pole barriers quarterly
  • Run the scrubber daily to manage dust levels
  • Clean building floors through various methods
  • Service and supply restrooms in the facility
  • Make minor repairs to heating, cooling, plumbing, and electrical systems
  • Prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications
  • Clean laboratory equipment using appropriate methods
  • Follow safety procedures for chemical and equipment usage
  • Move heavy furniture and equipment as needed
  • Notify management of major repair needs
  • Remove snow from outdoor areas using available tools
  • Requisition supplies for cleaning and maintenance
  • Set up facilities for events and meetings
  • Spray insecticides and fumigants as necessary
  • Operate Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) for product movement

Required skills

  • High school diploma or equivalency
  • 1 year of cleaning and maintenance experience
  • Attention to detail
  • Time management skills
  • Ability to lift up to 48 pounds
  • Operating machinery such as forklifts and pallet jacks
