Overview

As an IT Security Officer with Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services, you will play a critical role in ensuring the protection of information systems through technical control reviews and compliance reporting. You will help maintain cybersecurity standards and provide guidance aligned with industry frameworks while promoting security awareness across the organization.

Key responsibilities

  • Complete technical control reviews and report on compliance
  • Perform information risk assessments and provide guidance on best practices
  • Monitor and measure information security practices across technologies and processes
  • Update and design new information security policies
  • Improve information security through awareness programs, guidelines, and standards
  • Exercise knowledge and skills as part of a collaborative team

Required skills

  • Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP) certification or equivalent
  • Experience with security solutions across computing platforms and network infrastructure
  • Management of physical and logical information security systems
  • Vulnerability assessment, security audits, and firewall management
  • Technical documentation and writing IT security policies
  • Client focus, communication, teamwork, and leadership skills
  • Bilingual in English and French is an asset
