Overview

POSITION SUMMARY Under the direction of the Parks Director, the IT Coordinator manages the day-to-day technological operations of the district. This role serves as an IT generalist responsible for maintaining network stability, managing cybersecurity protocols, and overseeing facility access control systems. The position requires a proactive professional who provides technical leadership and ensures the integrity of the district's digital infrastructure through detailed monitoring and support. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Provides technical support for all staff, including hardware, software, and network troubleshooting Monitors and manages district cybersecurity measures, including firewalls, antivirus, and threat detection Administers facility access control systems and security camera networks Manages IT asset lifecycles, including procurement, deployment, and decommissioning of equipment Conducts regular system audits and implements software updates and security patches Oversees data backup procedures and disaster recovery planning Develops and maintains standard operating procedures (SOPs) for IT systems and user support. Facilitates end-user training sessions for new software, security best practices, and office technology. Manages local and cloud-based user accounts, including provisioning and offboarding. Coordinates with external IT consultants and service providers for specialized technical projects. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Advanced knowledge of Windows/ChromeOS environments and Microsoft 365 administration Expertise in network security, VPNs, and firewall management Proactive problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail Ability to manage complex projects and vendor relationships independently Proven ability to document technical processes and create user-friendly support guides. Proficiency in managing remote access solutions and mobile device management (MDM). Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical staff. Familiarity with compliance standards relevant to public sector data privacy. Experience with audio/visual (AV) systems installation, maintenance, and support. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred. Minimum of three years of experience in an IT generalist or support role. This is a strictly onsite work arrangement requiring a proactive, detail-oriented professional. Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+) are highly desirable.
