Overview

Wysocki Family Farms is looking for a full-time Irrigation Technician in Plainfield, Wisconsin. The role involves operating various irrigation systems to ensure proper water distribution to crops, performing regular inspections, and keeping detailed activity records.

Key responsibilities

  • Operate center pivot irrigation systems, corner irrigation systems, and well pump systems
  • Monitor and adjust water flow rates for optimal irrigation coverage
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify leaks, clogs, or other system issues
  • Keep detailed records of irrigation activities, water usage, and maintenance
  • Ensure quality, health, and safety standards are upheld
  • Assist with repairing and troubleshooting irrigation systems
  • Serve in secondary roles such as tractor operator or storage line supervisor

Required skills

  • Driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to use a laptop or iPad for remote operation of irrigation equipment
  • Pesticide applicator license (to be attained within 6 months, company paid)
  • Knowledge of electrical systems
  • Basic mechanical skills for equipment maintenance
  • Background in agronomy is beneficial
