Overview

The IP Speech Pathologist at Cox Barton County Hospital is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, treating, and preventing communication and swallowing disorders in patients. This role requires developing and implementing treatment plans based on individual assessments and recommendations from healthcare professionals.

Key responsibilities

  • Assess and diagnose communication and swallowing disorders
  • Develop and implement treatment plans for patients
  • Work independently with little direct supervision
  • Attend continuing education workshops for professional growth
  • Collaborate with physicians, psychologists, and social workers

Required skills

  • Graduate of a Speech Pathology Program
  • 5 years of related experience
  • Good clinical expertise
  • Strong communication skills
  • Organizational skills
  • Human relations skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • BLS certification within 90 days
  • Active Speech Therapy license in Missouri
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred
