Job Description

Overview

L.E. Cox Medical Centers is seeking a Speech-language Pathologist (SLP) for acute care therapy. The SLP will evaluate and treat patients experiencing communication and swallowing challenges following trauma, surgery, or acute medical events, working in a fast-paced medical environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Evaluate and treat patients in acute medical settings
  • Provide services to patients of all ages post trauma, surgery, or acute medical events
  • Assist patients in reaching their highest level of function in communication and swallowing
  • Make recommendations for the next level of care
  • Educate patients and their families
  • Participate in specialty teams including pediatric, neonatal care, and assistive technology assessments

Required skills

  • Master's Degree in Speech Pathology/Communicative Disorders and Sciences
  • License of Speech Therapy active in the state of Missouri
  • Good clinical expertise
  • Strong human relations and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Interest in professional growth and continuing education
  • Good communication skills
  • Positive attitude
