Job Description

Overview

This Jobot Job is hosted by: Tyler May Are you a fit? Easy Apply now by clicking the "Quick Apply" button and sending us your resume. Salary: $130,000 - $160,000 per year A bit about us: Our client is a long established intellectual property law firm in Florida that does one thing and does it deeply. For more than fifty years, this company has advised on the protection, enforcement, and commercial use of ideas and brands. Its clients range from first time inventors and startups to established mid sized businesses and global enterprises. The practice covers the full intellectual property spectrum: patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, and related disputes. Because the team includes technically trained patent professionals alongside seasoned trial lawyers, clients get strategy and courtroom capability under one roof. Much of the work involves partnering with other law firms and in house legal teams on larger matters, where this company handles the intellectual property component with precision. Our client is also a visible presence in the legal community. Its attorneys teach at the law school level, hold leadership roles in bar and professional organizations, and take on meaningful pro bono and civic work. Why join us? Real specialization. You will practice intellectual property law every day, not as a side line to a general practice. The focus lets you build expertise faster than you would at a broader firm. Meaningful early responsibility. Attorneys here are trusted with substantive work and direct client contact, with real involvement in matters rather than years spent on the sidelines. Variety across the portfolio. Prosecution, counseling, and litigation all sit within the same group, so you can develop a well rounded skill set or lean into the area you enjoy most. Access to senior talent. You will work closely with nationally recognized, board certified practitioners who actively mentor and share their knowledge. A collegial, professional culture. This is a close knit team that values collaboration, intellectual curiosity, and community involvement. Visibility and development. Support for speaking, writing, teaching, and bar involvement helps you grow your professional reputation. Job Details Required Juris Doctor from an accredited law school Active Florida Bar membership, or eligibility to be admitted promptly 4+ years of experience in intellectual property law, with hands on exposure to patent, trademark, or copyright matters Strong legal research, analytical, and writing skills Clear, confident communication with clients, colleagues, and opposing counsel Ability to manage a full caseload, prioritize competing deadlines, and work independently Preferred Registration to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (for patent focused roles), with a technical or science background Experience in federal court litigation or proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board Background in a boutique, large firm, or in house intellectual property setting Interest in business development and client relationship building Interested in hearing more?
