Overview

As an Investment Banking Associate in Santander's Los Angeles team, you will engage in various financial services roles, primarily focusing on project management and client interaction. This role offers the opportunity to develop technical mastery, deal execution skills, and a professional network while supporting senior bankers in business development across multiple coverage groups.

Key responsibilities

  • Support senior bankers in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities
  • Drive execution process across the entire transaction lifecycle, from origination through closing
  • Prepare client presentations, pitch books, and financial analyses
  • Develop, manage, and review financial models and valuation analyses
  • Ensure accuracy in deliverables while adhering to execution timelines
  • Mentor Analysts and support talent development initiatives
  • Participate in client meetings and deal discussions
  • Adhere to compliance procedures and internal risk controls

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business or equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience in Finance, Business or related field
  • Expert knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
  • Advanced financial modeling and valuation skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Team player and self-starter
  • Demonstrated knowledge of corporate finance and investment banking products
  • Strong interest and knowledge of AI tools and capabilities
  • Active FINRA Licenses 7 and 63
