Job Description

Overview

The Interventional Radiologic Technologist at OhioHealth plays a critical role in assisting Interventional Cardiologists, Electrophysiologists, and Interventional Radiologists during diagnostic and interventional procedures. This position requires competency in various imaging techniques and sterile procedures, with responsibilities tailored to specific areas such as Cath Lab, EP, VIR, and Neuro Interventional.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist the Interventionalist in specific areas during procedures
  • Greet and check in patients, ensuring consent forms are complete
  • Explain procedures and answer patients' questions
  • Participate in room turnover and transport patients
  • Assist Radiation Safety officer in QA of labs and maintain radiation protective apparel
  • Perform tasks using radiation safety principles and maintain accurate records

Required skills

  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support
  • ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
  • BLS - Basic Life Support
  • State of Ohio Radiologic Licensure
  • Knowledge of X-ray equipment, hemodynamic monitoring, and sterile technique
  • Experience with fluoroscopy, computed tomography (CT), and ultrasound
