Job Description

Overview

The International Trade Compliance Manager (ITCM) at Ace Hardware Corporation is responsible for ensuring compliance with trade laws and regulations related to import and export operations. This role involves providing leadership to a team, managing compliance documentation, and maintaining relationships with U.S. Customs and other regulatory bodies while supporting the international trade needs of the organization.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide subject matter expertise on import and export compliance matters
  • Manage daily import operations and provide tactical and strategic support
  • Oversee compliance documentation and customs classification
  • Directly lead and manage a team of 3 compliance specialists
  • Act as a liaison for brokers and suppliers to resolve import compliance issues
  • Support the growth of international teams and ensure compliance with global trade regulations
  • Maintain and update the Import Compliance Manual annually
  • Guide the CTPAT and ISA programs to ensure adherence to international compliance standards

Required skills

  • 7+ years of experience in logistics, customs brokerage, and international trade documents
  • Leadership experience with a focus on influencing and managing teams
  • Knowledge of U.S. Customs and Border Protection and foreign compliance regulations
  • Fluent in English; knowledge of Spanish or Mandarin is a plus
  • Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Customs Broker license required
