Overview

The International Trade Compliance Manager (ITCM) at Ace Hardware Corporation is responsible for ensuring compliance with international trade laws and regulations. This role involves managing import and export compliance operations, providing leadership to a small team, and serving as a primary liaison with customs officials and trade partners. The ITCM will also be involved in strategic initiatives to optimize compliance processes globally.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensure Ace Hardware's compliance with trade regulations and minimize exposure to penalties.
  • Manage daily import operations and serve as a liaison for brokers and suppliers.
  • Oversee documentation, customs classification, and retention of category compliance.
  • Lead programs related to compliance such as CTPAT and ISA.
  • Support international teams with compliance-related initiatives across 69 import countries.
  • Provide strategic support for import logistics and compliance matters.

Required skills

  • 7+ years' experience in logistics, customs brokerage, and international trade compliance.
  • Proven leadership experience with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Knowledge of U.S. Customs and Border Protection regulations and foreign compliance.
  • Strong negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; Customs Broker license required.
  • Fluency in English; Spanish or Mandarin is a plus.
