Job Description

Overview

The International Trade Compliance Manager (ITCM) at Ace Hardware will ensure compliance with import and export regulations and manage the company's trade-related activities. This role involves leading a team, overseeing daily import operations, and establishing compliance benchmarks tailored to various countries.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage daily import operations and resolve compliance issues.
  • Oversee documentation, customs classification, and the management of import brokers.
  • Lead programs related to CTPAT, ISA, and compliance with trade regulations.
  • Communicate with teams in Oak Brook, China, and Global Sales to meet compliance requirements.
  • Maintain and update the Import Compliance Manual.
  • Support special projects for import/export teams and legal counsel.
  • Ensure adherence to international standards for highly regulated commodities.
  • Manage performance and development of team members.

Required skills

  • 7+ years of experience in logistics, customs brokerage, and international trade compliance.
  • 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Knowledge of U.S. Customs and Border Protection regulations.
  • Experience with CTPAT and ISA programs.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Customs Broker license required.
  • Fluent in English; Spanish or Mandarin is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and presentation skills.
