Overview

The Internal Medicine Physician Assistant at UC Davis Health will provide independent advanced level clinical expertise to patients managing chronic and acute medical conditions. This role involves collaborative care in a team environment, patient education, and leadership while navigating a diversified patient population.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage chronic stable medical conditions and provide routine and critical care
  • Perform non-invasive and invasive medical procedures, including surgical assistance
  • Act as an expert resource for healthcare providers and staff
  • Participate in patient and staff education
  • Demonstrate accountability and leadership skills

Required skills

  • California Licensed Physician Assistant (PA)
  • National board certification as a physician assistant (NCCPA)
  • Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Certificate
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Master's degree or PhD from an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Minimum five years of experience as a physician assistant
  • Three years of primary care experience in family or internal medicine
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-direction and organizational skills
