Overview

The Internal Medicine Physician Assistant at UC Davis Health will provide advanced clinical expertise in a patient-centered care environment, managing both chronic and acute conditions. This role requires independent decision-making and collaboration with healthcare teams to deliver comprehensive care to a diverse patient population.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide patient care in outpatient settings, managing chronic stable conditions and acute care
  • Participate in professional development and quality evidence-based practices
  • Conduct patient and staff education and participate in research initiatives
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers as a resource for clinical decision making

Required skills

  • California Licensed Physician Assistant
  • National board certification as a physician assistant (NCCPA)
  • Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Certificate
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Master's degree or PhD from an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Minimum five years of experience as a physician assistant
  • Three years of primary care experience in family or internal medicine
  • Strong judgment, communication, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Ability to cope with team and patient stress
