Overview

The Internal Medicine Core Faculty position at Saint Agnes Medical Providers is a full-time role focused on the education and supervision of Internal Medicine residents and medical students. The faculty member will engage in clinical teaching, program governance, and scholarly activities, while also maintaining a continuity patient panel.

Key responsibilities

  • Supervise and instruct residents and medical students in the outpatient continuity clinic.
  • Maintain a personal continuity panel of internal medicine patients.
  • Participate in inpatient teaching assignments as scheduled.
  • Provide remote faculty supervision for after-hours clinic call.
  • Support resident education during weekly didactic half-days.
  • Deliver didactic lectures, case-based learning, and skills-based teaching.
  • Participate in academic planning, curriculum development, and continuous improvement of the residency program.
  • Mentor residents and support individualized learning plans.
  • Serve on the Clinical Competency Committee to assess resident performance.
  • Participate in the Program Evaluation Committee to guide curriculum evaluation.
  • Engage in scholarly activities including research and publications.
  • Supervise and educate residents on community rotations.

Required skills

  • MD or DO degree with ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine residency completion.
  • Unrestricted medical license or eligibility for Medical Board of California.
  • Current board certification in Internal Medicine (ABIM).
  • Clinical experience in outpatient internal medicine and adult inpatient care.
  • Demonstrated experience teaching residents or medical students.
  • Eligibility for hospital privileges in outpatient and inpatient adult medicine.
  • Current ACLS certification.
  • Strong commitment to education and high-quality patient care.
