Job Description

Overview

The Internal Auto Damage Adjuster at Rockingham Insurance Company is responsible for reviewing damage estimates from body shops and independent adjusters to determine cost-effective resolutions for physical damage claims. This role involves negotiating settlements and preparing estimates, specifically focusing on total loss handling and rental vehicle monitoring.

Key responsibilities

  • Determine cost-effective solutions for resolving physical damage claims
  • Write estimates utilizing CCC estimating software
  • Negotiate with claimants, carriers, and attorneys for settlements
  • Monitor rental vehicle usage for insureds and claimants
  • Research and maintain knowledge of compliance requirements
  • Complete timely and accurate reporting of claim information
  • Maintain comprehensive claim file documentation
  • Pursue subrogation and arbitration when applicable
  • Support Auto Damage Supervisor and perform other assigned duties

Required skills

  • 3+ years of experience handling automobile physical damage claims
  • Experience with Mitchell or CCC estimate software
  • Comprehensive knowledge of insurance theory and practices
  • Familiarity with automobile estimating process and total loss handling
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Superior customer service skills
  • Critical thinking and negotiation skills
  • Attention to detail and responsible decision-making
  • Excellent relationship and analytical thinking skills
