Overview

TransForce Inc. is looking for a skilled Intermodal Trailer Technician in Council Bluffs, IA. This role is tailored for both experienced technicians and entry-level candidates, emphasizing hands-on mechanical training and providing an opportunity for stable employment with career growth potential.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and preventative service on intermodal trailers
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and structural issues
  • Repair or replace brakes, suspension systems, tires, and other trailer components
  • Complete welding and light fabrication work as needed
  • Ensure all equipment meets DOT safety and compliance standards
  • Accurately document maintenance and repair work
  • Work collaboratively with team members to maintain efficient operations

Required skills

  • Hands-on experience as a trailer technician (intermodal or refrigerated equipment preferred)
  • Diesel mechanic background
  • Familiarity with CAT or Cummins engines
  • Experience using diagnostic tools and interpreting schematics/manuals
  • Welding and fabrication skills
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
  • Valid driver's license (CDL preferred but not required)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
