Job Description

Overview

CFS is seeking an experienced Interim Chief Human Resources Officer for their growing organization in the Greater Bridgeport and Fairfield County area. This role will provide strategic and operational leadership during a critical period of organizational growth and transformation, partnering directly with the CEO and executive team to improve HR operations and enhance the employee experience.

Key responsibilities

  • Serve as the senior HR advisor to the CEO and executive leadership team
  • Develop and execute HR strategies that support organizational growth and operational excellence
  • Lead initiatives related to culture, employee engagement, retention, and change management
  • Provide guidance on employee relations, investigations, performance management, and leadership coaching
  • Evaluate and improve HR processes, systems, and overall department effectiveness
  • Oversee talent acquisition strategies and workforce planning initiatives
  • Utilize people analytics and HR metrics for decision-making
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulatory requirements
  • Lead and mentor the HR team to create structure and accountability
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in the HR function

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 8+ years of progressive HR experience, including 4 years in a senior HR leadership role
  • Strong employee relations and leadership coaching skills
  • Experience in organizational development and change management
  • Knowledge of Connecticut employment law and HR best practices
  • Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Preferred: Master's degree in HR
  • Preferred: SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification
  • Preferred: Experience in healthcare, human services, or nonprofit sectors
