Job Description

Overview

CFS is seeking an experienced Interim Chief Human Resources Officer for a growing organization in the Greater Bridgeport and Fairfield County areas. This role involves providing strategic and operational leadership to a workforce of over 400 employees during a critical period of growth and transformation, partnering closely with the CEO and executive team.

Key responsibilities

  • Serve as the senior HR advisor to the CEO and executive leadership team
  • Develop and execute HR strategies that support organizational growth and operational excellence
  • Lead initiatives related to culture, employee engagement, retention, and change management
  • Provide guidance on complex employee relations matters and performance management
  • Evaluate and improve HR processes, systems, and overall department effectiveness
  • Oversee talent acquisition strategies across multiple departments and locations
  • Utilize people analytics to support executive decision-making
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and industry standards
  • Lead and mentor the HR team while enhancing structure and accountability
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and modernize the HR function

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 8+ years of progressive HR experience with at least 4 years in a senior HR leadership role
  • Strong employee relations and organizational development experience
  • Knowledge of Connecticut employment law and HR best practices
  • Ability to build credibility and influence stakeholders across all levels
  • Master's degree in HR preferred
  • SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification preferred
  • Experience in healthcare, nonprofit, or highly regulated environments preferred
