Overview

ManhattanLife Insurance and Annuity Company is seeking an Insurance Claims Supervisor for its Voluntary Benefits Division in De Pere, Wisconsin. This role involves overseeing a team of claim examiners and ensuring accurate and timely processing of claims related to various group products in health and life insurance.

Key responsibilities

  • Supervise daily operations of claim examiners
  • Ensure accurate and timely review of claims
  • Organize and improve training documentation and procedures
  • Determine complex claim benefits payable based on medical records
  • Timely assignment of claims to appropriate examiners
  • Communicate with internal and external customers regarding claims
  • Review and respond to escalated claim inquiries and appeals
  • Provide insights for enhancements to claim processes and training procedures
  • Make referrals to other departments as necessary

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in insurance or finance
  • At least 3 years of claims handling experience in a supervisory role
  • Strong communication skills (oral, written, interpersonal)
  • Knowledge of claims processing and regulatory compliance
  • Proficient in computer systems, including email and Microsoft products
  • Ability to work flexible shifts and maintain regular attendance
