Overview

Exact Sciences is seeking an Instrument/Automation Service Engineer I to join their team in Madison, Wisconsin. This role focuses on diagnosing and resolving failures in laboratory instruments and automation systems, particularly with FANUC support. The engineer will perform preventive maintenance, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and collaborate across teams to enhance troubleshooting and project execution.

Key responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair, and resolve failures in laboratory instrumentation and automation systems.
  • Conduct routine preventive maintenance and calibration of lab equipment.
  • Document service activities in line with Good Documentation Practices and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop technical expertise and train others on servicing instrumentation and automated systems.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with internal and external departments.
  • Support process improvement initiatives by revising procedures and optimizing workflows.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technology, or Electronics; or Associate degree with 2 years relevant experience; or h
  • Experience with FANUC robot programming and diagnostics.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical parts and assembly drawings.
  • Familiarity with electrical circuits and measurement tools.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and adaptability.
