Job Description

Overview

The Instrumentation and Controls Technician at Atlantica will be responsible for maintaining and repairing instrumentation and electrical equipment at the power plant in Hinkley, California. The role involves performing preventive and corrective maintenance on various control systems and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Key responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and perform corrective action on process control instrumentation and control valves.
  • Calibrate electronic and pneumatic pressure transmitters and controllers.
  • Repair or replace thermocouple or RTD temperature elements.
  • Install stainless steel instrumentation tubing.
  • Complete material requisitions accurately.
  • Maintain good housekeeping, including company vehicles.
  • Document work performed accurately on work orders.
  • Perform all tasks assigned by the I & E Supervisor.
  • Coordinate work activities with co-workers and supervisor.

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 5 years' experience as an I&C technician in an industrial environment
  • Understanding of safety regulations and practices
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&ID drawings, and technical manuals
  • Proficiency in using Digital Multimeter & HART Communicator
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and SAP
  • Experience with troubleshooting equipment failures and analyzing process conditions
