Job Description

Overview

PacifiCorp is seeking an Instrument and Controls Technician in Huntington, UT, to maintain and repair plant instrumentation and control systems. This role ensures accurate and safe control of power generation units while adhering to environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Inspect, repair, and calibrate plant control systems including turbine and combustion control systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on instrumentation and control systems.
  • Test, repair, and calibrate various environmental monitoring equipment.
  • Keep detailed records of maintenance activities and calibration.
  • Study manuals, blueprints, and consult with supervisors and vendors to solve maintenance problems.

Required skills

  • Three years of experience in calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of instrument and controls.
  • Knowledge of analog and digital controls, including AC/DC theory.
  • Experience with environmental measurement equipment.
  • Familiarity with microprocessor-based instrumentation, including DCS, SCADA, PLC systems.
  • Understanding of water chemistry monitoring.
