Job Description

Overview

PacifiCorp is looking for an Instrument and Controls Technician in Huntington, Utah, to maintain and repair plant instrumentation and control systems that ensure the accurate and safe control of power generation units. This role involves performing preventative maintenance and calibration on various control and monitoring equipment.

Key responsibilities

  • Inspect, repair, and calibrate plant control systems including turbine and combustion control systems.
  • Test and calibrate emission monitoring equipment to comply with environmental standards.
  • Maintain and calibrate water treatment instrumentation.
  • Keep detailed records of maintenance activities and instrument calibrations.
  • Consult with supervisors and vendors to resolve maintenance issues.

Required skills

  • Three years of journey-level experience in calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Experience with analog and digital controls, including pressure, level, temperature, and flow measurement
  • Knowledge of environmental measurement (NOx, SOx, CO2, opacity)
  • Familiarity with microprocessor-based instrumentation, including DCS, SCADA, and PLC systems
  • Knowledge in water chemistry and monitoring
  • Test equipment and troubleshooting capabilities
  • Certification in electrical and instrumentation from an accredited institution or relevant coursework
