Job Description

Overview

The Instructional Coach at New Story Schools will enhance teaching practices through collaborative, student-centered coaching. This role focuses on building educator capacity, promoting high-quality instruction, and ensuring positive outcomes for students aged 5-21 with various challenges.

Key responsibilities

  • Coach teachers using observation, modeling, dialogue, and co-teaching practices
  • Support alignment of instruction with standards, curriculum, and assessments
  • Promote inclusive, engaging, student-centered learning environments
  • Provide professional development to increase educator effectiveness
  • Collaborate with school leaders to analyze data and support improvement planning

Required skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in special education or a related field
  • Valid Pennsylvania Instructional II Special Education certification
  • Experience supporting instructional practice through coaching or mentoring
  • Strong knowledge of standards-based instruction and curriculum alignment
  • Ability to build trust through non-evaluative, collaborative relationships
