Overview

ChanceLight Behavioral Health, Therapy, & Education is seeking an Instructional Aide in La Fayette, Georgia, to support students in a Special Education program. This role involves collaborating with educators to implement individualized education plans, providing guidance and support in classroom and community settings, and fostering student growth in a supportive learning environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with classroom teachers to create a supportive learning environment.
  • Implement individualized instruction and behavioral interventions aligned with student goals.
  • Instruct and monitor students during classroom lessons.
  • Track student progress and communicate successes and concerns to teachers.
  • Manage student behavior and apply consistent disciplinary measures.
  • Support students facing academic challenges in developing essential skills.
  • Complete documentation of student behaviors and performance.
  • Communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and families.
  • Participate in school-wide meetings and contribute to educational outcomes.

Required skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Associate degree or higher in education or related field preferred
  • Licensure or certification in paraprofessional or similar role preferred
  • Ability to maintain certification in crisis management training
  • Experience working with children with learning disabilities and autism
  • Proficient in oral and written communication
  • Organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with instructional technology and Microsoft Office Suite
