Overview

ChanceLight Behavioral Health, Therapy, & Education is seeking an Instructional Aide to support students in a special education program for grades 6-12. In this role, you will provide personalized guidance and supervision to empower students along with collaborating closely with classroom educators to ensure effective implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). The position offers an opportunity to work in a student-centered environment that values innovation and personal growth.

Key responsibilities

  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to create a supportive learning environment.
  • Implement individualized instruction and behavioral interventions for students.
  • Monitor and instruct students during lessons to enhance comprehension.
  • Track student progress and communicate with teachers about their needs.
  • Manage student behavior and apply consistent disciplinary measures.
  • Support students facing academic challenges and foster personal growth.
  • Document student behaviors and performance accurately.
  • Assist in preparing detailed reports and documentation.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student records.
  • Participate in school-wide meetings and contribute to educational outcomes.

Required skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with a preference for an associate degree in education or related field.
  • Experience in providing instruction or support to children, especially in special education settings.
  • Knowledge of working with students with learning disabilities and emotional behavioral disorders.
  • Strong communication, organization, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in instructional technology and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions in emergencies.
