Overview

Spectrum Center Schools and Programs is looking for an Instructional Aide to support K-12 students in a special education environment. The role involves collaborating with classroom educators to implement Individualized Education Programs (IEP) and providing personalized support that helps students build essential skills and confidence.

Key responsibilities

  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to create a supportive learning environment.
  • Implement individualized instruction and behavioral interventions.
  • Monitor students during lessons to enhance comprehension.
  • Track student progress and communicate with educators about interventions.
  • Manage student behavior in line with school policies.
  • Support students facing academic challenges to develop essential skills.
  • Document student behaviors and performance clearly and accurately.
  • Participate in assurance and accreditation activities.
  • Engage in school-wide meetings for collaborative support initiatives.

Required skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to obtain CA state driver's license
  • Crisis management training certification
  • Experience in special education or behavioral health programs
  • Knowledge of disabilities such as learning disabilities and autism
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and instructional technology
